Due to the second wave of the pandemic and decisive steps to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Government Crisis Management Team decided to close cultural institutions to the public until 29 November 2020.
The temporary closure of cultural institutions, philharmonics, operas, operettas, theatres, museums, cinemas, cultural centres, libraries, art galleries from 7 to 29 November 2020 means that organising events with the participation of the public will not be allowed. However, this does not exclude activities related to conducting rehearsals and preparing artistic events, remote work and online events.
Due to the closure of cultural institutions to the public, support mechanisms will be introduced for entities operating in the field of culture, institutions, non-governmental organisations, entrepreneurs as well as creators and artists working on civil law contracts. New support programmes has been established for studio cinemas, film producers and distributors with an initial budget of up to PLN 157 mln, and the budget of the Film Production programme was increased by approximately PLN 40 mln.
Next meeting of the Anti-Crisis Team at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage is planned for Friday, 6 November.
