Częstochowa | 30th "Gaude Mater" International Festival of Sacred Music

Gaude materThe 30th "Gaude Mater" International Festival of Sacred Music will be held in Częstochowa on 10-15 September 2021. The event is organised in tribute to Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński – the Primate of the Millennium.

The honorary patronage over the 30th Gaude Mater International Festival of Sacred Music was taken by the President of Częstochowa, Krzysztof Matyjaszczyk, and the Metropolitan Bishop of Częstochowa, Abp. Wacław Depo.

The anniversary edition will be attended by Magdalena Kaczor, the Częstochowa Philharmonic Orchestra and the Collegium Cantorum Choir, the Cantus Humanus Chamber Choir of the University of Zielona Góra, Warsaw Harmony, the Choir and Orchestra of the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble, the Jasna Góra Wind Instrument Ensemble and the Jasna Góra Ensemble of Early Music.

The festival programme will include, among others, Stanisław Moniuszko's Latin Mass in E flat major and Mass in E minor, Feliks Nowowiejski's symphonies for organ and the premiere of his Intrada, the premiere of Marcin Józef Żebrowski's Trio of sonatas, as well as Johann Sebastian Bach's Oster-Oratorio BMV 249. The festival will be accompanied by Paulina Krajewska's exhibition "Silence of the Icon".

Admission to all events is free. Co-financed under the "Music" programme carried out by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
