Częstochowa | Opening of the 77th concert season 2021/2022
The Bronisław Huberman Częstochowa Philharmonic opens the 77th concert season on 17 September 2021 with the premiere of Adam Wesołowski's latest work and music of Wojciech Kilar, whose name will be given to the Philharmonic Concert Hall.
The concert will feature Peter Jablonski, an award-winning Swedish pianist of Polish descent who enjoys international recognition. He remains a supporter of contemporary composers and regularly performs world premieres of their works. For the first performance of Wojciech Kilar's Piano Concerto No. 1 the pianist received the "Orpheus" award at the "Warsaw Autumn" International Festival of Contemporary Music in 1997. He will perform this piece at the opening concert with the Częstochowa Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Adam Klocek. We will also hear Wojciech Kilar's Veni Creator, featuring the Collegium Cantorum Częstochowa Philharmonic Choir.
The programme will also include the premiere of Angels and Demons by Adam Wesołowski, director of the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic.
