Duo van Vliet at WRO – New Year's Concert Premiere

An online premiere of the Duo van Vliet concert, an original project by Rafał Łuc with a guest appearance by Rafał Zalech, will be held on 1 January 2021 at 7:00 p.m. The concert was recorded at the WRO Art Centre and so far has not been available to the general public. It will be a response to the annual concerts of the Viennese philharmonics.

Referring to the musical beginnings of the WRO Biennale, the organizers want to welcome the coming year in a truly virtuoso style. The concert programme includes five pieces by Polish composers written in 2020: Unhelpful Thinking Styles for viola, accordion, audio-playback and light projection by Monika Szpyrka; And it rose and it fell and pulsed like a wave for viola, accordion, electronics and video by Paweł Malinowski; USŁUGA for viola, accordion and video by Rafał Zapała; good things come to those who sweat for accordion, audio-playback and video by Marta Śniady; and triggered for four performers by Piotr Bednarczyk.

The concert was performed by Duo van Vliet, composed of: Rafał Łuc – accordion and Rafał Zalech – viola (guest appearance), with a special participation of Ensemble Kompopolex: Aleksandra Gołaj – objects, Rafał Łuc – accordion, Jacek Sotomski – Roland SPD-SX, computer, Rafał Zalech – viola (guest appearance).
