Between April 8 and 24, 2016, the Early Music Season Festival, organized by the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, will host concerts of Polish artists – soprano Olga Pasiecznik, harpsichordist Marcin Świątkiewicz and lutist Michał Gondko.
Each one of three presented programmes evokes different protagonists: each one presents the great composer and his followers, or certain musical phenomenon. First, Olga Pasiecznik will embody heroines of the famous but quite rarely played Italian cantatas by Georg Friedrich Händel: Lucrezia HWV 145, Armida abbandonata HWV 105 and Agrippina condotta a morire HWV 110. Next, Marcin Świątkiewicz will interpret Johann Sebastian Bach’s well-known harpsichord concertos, while Michał Gondko will present 16th- and 17th-century lute repertoire.
The 2016 Polish programme in China is organized by Culture.pl and the Polish Institute – Culture Service of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Beijing.
