The series of concerts "Chopin at the Motława River" will be held at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk between 9-31 July 2018.
The concerts will take place every day at 8.30 p.m. in the Gdańsk Salon (foyer) at the Baltic Philharmonic, from where you can see the Motława River. Moreover, the music played inside the building will be heard outside – loudspeakers directed to Motława will be an additional advantage for passers-by.
The motto of the series is "Stream of Music Energy". The repertoir will include compositions by Fryderyk Chopin, as well as Polish composers of the 20th century. In the interpretation of Bartosz Skłodowski, Krzysztof Książek, Michał Mossakowski, Igor Torbicki, Paweł Rydl and Bogna Forkiewicz, we will hear piano pieces and vocal poems by Karol Szymanowski, Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Witold Lutosławski.
Concerts were made possible by the Polkish Baltic Philharmonic strategic sponsor, Energa SA. The project is co-financed by the City of Gdańsk and funds from the National Center for Culture under the "Culture – Interventions" programme 2018.
