Gdańsk | "Chopin by the Motława River" Festival

PFBThe Fryderyk Chopin Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk invites you on 10-25 July 2021 to the next edition of the series of piano recitals "Chopin by the Motława River".

The winners of piano competitions and professors of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk will present works by Frydedryk Chopina as well as music from different periods and styles. The festival will be attended by Maciej Gański, Aleksandra Świgut, Paweł Rydel, Igor Torbicki, Daniel Ziomko, Patryk Morgaś, Piotr Słopecki, Natalia Zaleska, Michał Mossakowski, Sławomir Wilk, Joanna Kaczmarska-Bieżyńska, Robert Adamczak, Bartosz Wiśniewski, Mikołaj Sikała, Bartosz Skłodowski, Piotr Pawlak, Jan Lewandowski. We will hear works by the 20th- and 21st-centuries composers, including Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Karol Szymanowski, Stefan Kisielewski, Grażyna Bacewicz, Sergiusz Bortkiewicz, Andrzej Dziadek, Paweł Mykietyn, Marek Czerniewicz, Szymon Wieczorek, Paweł Kwapiński and Władysław Walentynowicz.

The concerts will take place at 8.30 p.m. in the Gdańsk Salon (foyer) at the Baltic Philharmonic, from where you can see the Motława River. Moreover, the music played inside the building will be heard outside – loudspeakers directed to Motława will be an additional advantage for passers-by.
