Gdańsk | Laboratory of New Sacred Music Festival

Between the 6^th and 7^th of May 2022 in the Church of St. Catherine in Gdańsk the Laboratory of New Sacred Music Festival 2022 organized by the Polish Chamber Choir will take place. Thanks to the ‘Composing Commissions’ programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance, a piece Regina Coeli of Aleksandra Chmielewska will be performed for the first time.

On the first day of the Festival Stanisław Moryto's Carmina Crucis to the words of 14 poems by Ernest Bryl from the Golgota Jasnogórska volume will be performed. In the first part of the concert on the 7^th of May, the Polish Chamber Choir conducted by Jan Łukaszewski will perform a selection of a cappella pieces by Andrzej Koszewski, who will be celebrating his 100th birthday this year. In the second part of the concert a piece Regina Coeli by Aleksandra Chmielewska for choir, two violins, viola, percussion and oboe will be performed. The piece was commissioned by the Festival.
