Gdańsk | ‘There is no freedom without solidarity’

On the 12th of June, 2022 at 7.00 pm with a concert ‘There is no freedom without solidarity’ the Open Theater in Gdańsk will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the first pilgrimage of John Paul II to the Tri-City and the 40th anniversary of the banning of the trade unions ‘Solidarity’. Admission to the concert is free!

The event is organized under the patronage of: President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Jarosław Sellin, Archbishop of Gdańsk Tadeusz Wojda, Pomeranian Voivode Dariusz Drelich, Chairman of the National Committee of NSZZ ‘Solidarność’ Piotr Duda.

The programme of the event will include fragments of the Pomeranian Homilies from two pilgrimages of John Paul II to the Tri-City (1987, 1999), piano pieces and songs by Fryderyk Chopin, pieces dedicated to the Polish Pope and John Paul II's favorite songs.
