Ignacy Lisiecki will premiere Marcel Chyrzyński's "Reflection No. 8" in Japan
Ignacy Lisiecki – an excellent pianist who has been promoting Polish music in the Land of the Rising Sun for a long time – will premiere Marcel Chrzyński's Reflection No. 8 on 25 July 2021 at the Himawari-No-Sato Concert Hall in Yokohama.
“All the pieces from the Reflections series are an expression of my thoughts on the transience and fragility of existence,” comments the composer. “The contemplative nature and tranquility emanating from these compositions reflect my emotions resulting from accepting such a world order. Reflection No. 8 was composed with the great Polish pianist Ignacy Lisiecki in mind and is dedicated to him ”.
Ignacy Lisiecki has been promoting Polish music in Japan for many years. There he premiered works by, among others, Roman Palester or Paweł Hendrich, who dedicated his Gliptopalinomia to him. Lisiecki focuses mainly on contemporary music, but he also plays works by slightly older composers – he has significantly contributed to the popularization of Karol Szymanowski's work in Japan.
