Between 16 and 18 November 2015 the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice will host the first edition of the International Festival of Music Academy Choirs “KoChAM”.
The event is organized by the Faculty of Choral Conducting and the Institute of Composition, Conducting and Music Theory of the Academy of Music in Katowice. The audience of this year’s edition of the festival will listen to the performances of choirs from the music academies in Brno, Poznań, Wrocław, and Katowice. On November 18 all ensembles conducted by Stanisław Krawczyński will present Henryk Mikołaj Górecki’s Salve, sidus Polonorum – Cantata in honour of St. Wojciech (Adalbertus) Op. 72 in the Silesian Philharmonic.
All festival events (concerts, lectures, workshops, rehearsals) are free, however some require visitors to book a free ticket in advance.
