IV ArteFonie Festival in Wejherowo

The Association of Young Artists of the Wejherowo Region and the Art'n'Voices Vocal Ensemble invite you to the 4th ArteFonie Festival. It will take place on September 13-16, 2024 in Wejherowo under the slogan "The Labyrinth of Chaos and Harmony": we will hear mainly contemporary music.

During the first concert, Natalia Kukulska's greatest hits will be played in a new, acoustic version thanks to the Atom String Quartet and Art'n'Voices ensembles. Before the concert, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the composition competition, which is an integral part of ArteFonie.

On September 14, the jazz band MIDI4 will perform with Emil Miszek, described as one of the most talented trumpeters of the young generation. Then there will be a screening of the film Strong Man (1929), ending the era of Polish silent cinema, with the music provided by the smallest orchestra in the world - the Ludwik Sarski Orchestra. The Saturday concert will be ended by Olga Anna Markowska - in her improvisations she will combine the sound of the zither with electronic sounds.

On September 15, we will hear "Meditations in Sacred Space" - improvisations for organ and saxophone performed by Bogusław Grabowski and Maciej Sikała, which will be enriched with reflections read by Dominik Mazan. During the event, there will be an opportunity to support the hospice of St. Jude the Apostle in Wejherowo.

ArteFonie will end with a theatrical accent: the Art'n'Voices Vocal Ensemble will present the performance "Laboratory of Ballads and Romances", combining the works of Adam Mickiewicz with a cappella music, enriched with violin improvisations by the excellent jazzman Tomasz Chyła and stage movement performed by Joanna Nadrowska. The whole show will be complemented by visualizations by Michał "Gary" Garnowski, creating an atmosphere of horror and mystery.

The festival is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

Admission to the concerts on September 14 and 15 is free.
