The Lower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra invites you on May 23, 2018 at 7.00 pm for a chamber concert "Composer-in-Residence", devoted to Andrzej Kopeć.
The Composer-in-residence program initiated by the Institute of Music and Dance refers to the practice of connecting artists with professional music institutions, which is widespread in Europe and worldwide. The composer-in-residence at the Lower Silesian Philharmonic in Jelenia Góra in the 2017/2018 season is Andrzej Kopeć – a composer and multimedia artist who combines music and computer technologies in his works. He is a two-time winner of the competitions of the Silesian Composers' Tribune in Katowice and the Tadeusz Bird Young Composers' Competition. He has written solo, chamber, choral and orchestral pieces and pursued a number of projects using electronic means. He has collaborated, among others, with the Warsaw Dance Theater, the Musical Theater in Lublin, the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin, the Sudeten Philharmonic in Wałbrzych, the Legnica Cultural Center, the Heavens of Copernicus Planetarium, the "Artelier" Festival in Szczecin. He lectures at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music.
The concert in Jelenia Góra will present Andrzej Kopeć works alongside compositions by Michał Ossowski and Włodzimierz Kotoński in the interpretation of Sepia Ensemble.
