Austrian Cultural Forum (7/9 Próżna St.) will host a concert entitled Karol Mikuli – Forgotten Student of Chopin, a Deserving Citizen of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which will be held on April 13, 2016 at 7.00 pm.
Karol Mikuli studied piano under Fryderyk Chopin (later became his teaching assistant and editor of his works) and composition with Anton Reicha. For several years held a post of a director of the Lviv Conservatory. He toured widely as a concert pianist and composed mainly piano works.
During the concert, his Songs, Op. 16, 17 and 27, as well as Serenade in A flat major, Op. 22 for clarinet and piano will be presented by Gabriela Machowska-Kopietz (piano), Witold Żołądkiewicz (baritone) and Anna Gut (clarinet).
