Kąśna Dolna | Festival "Viva Polonia! To warm the hearts"

Centrum PaderewskiegoThe festival "Viva Polonia! To warm the hearts” aims to promote broadly understood Polish culture – music, art and history. This year's edition, which will be held between 7 and 13 November 2020 at the Paderewski Centre in Kąśna Dolna, will focus on the outstanding Pole, Pope John Paul II, on the centenary of his birth.

The event will start on 7 November with a concert entitled "Kąśna for John Paul II", featuring a selection of favorite songs of the Holy Father and fragments of his poetry. During the second concert on 11 November, National Independence Day, accordionist Marcin Wyrostek and his band will present the "PolAcc" project. We will hear both pieces inspired by Polish traditional, film, Jewish or folk music, as well as compositions by great masters, including Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Wojciech Kilar, Witold Lutosławski and Karol Szymanowski.

Patriotic lessons for children and youth, which are the heart of the festival, this year will be held online. Karol Wojtyła's play Our God's Brother will be performed by actors from the Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów and made available online. The premiere will take place on 9 November on the website of the Paderewski Centre: www.centrumpaderewskiego.pl, its Facebook profile and YouTube channel. The festival will be accompanied by an exhibition "John Paul II. Man and Culture ", based on the collection of the Holy Father John Paul II Family Home Museum in Wadowice.
