Katowice branch of the Polish Composers' Union invites to a concert as part of the 18th Silesian Days of Contemporary Music, which will take place on November 14, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (Hall of Bolesław Szabelski).
The programme of the concert will include Three fragments for flute and harp by Witold Lutosławski, Widnokręgi for two flutes and piano by Wojciech Widłak, and Eco for two flutes by Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil. It will also premiere Zmień moje plany i wydobądź dźwięki for two flutes and a piano by Justyna Kowalska-Lasoń. In addition, Sonata for flute and harp by Przemysław Scheller, commissioned this year by the Szymanowski Society, will be presented for the second time.
These instrumental pieces will be performed by outstanding musicians: flautists Agata Kielar-Długosz and Łukasz Długosz, harpist Anna Scheller, and pianist Andrzej Jungiewicz.
Admission to the concert is free. Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the "Composing Commissions" programme, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
