Kielce | Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic: End of the 2020/2021 Season
The Oskar Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic invites you on 18 June 2021 at 7.00 p.m. to the final concert of the season. The Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of the institution's director, maestro Jacek Rogala. As a soloist – cello virtuoso Tomasz Strahl.
The well-renowned artists will perform Edward Pałłasz's An Auburn-Haired Girl, Robert Schumann's Cello Concerto, Op. 129 and Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 1, Op. 21.
The title of Edward Pałłasz's prelude for orchestra, An Auburn-Haired Girl, alludes to Claude Debussy's famous piano prelude, The Girl with the Flaxen Hair. The leitmotif of Pałłasz's piece is an arabesque theme that is subject to many transformations, but always stays audible and recognizable; painted with pastel colours or blended into a more turbulent course. The composer wrote in a comment: "The work was dedicated to Maria Fydrych, who has been my wife since December 1986".
