Kraków | 13th Days of John Paul II

The purpose of the Days of John Paul II, whose 13th edition will take place on 6-8 November 2018, is to commemorate the figure of Saint John Paul II and to promote his heritage in the academic community of Krakow and the whole Lesser Poland.

The motto of this year's edition is: "Independence". Three conferences will take place during the event, including one on music: National Scientific Session "Music on poetry and teaching of Karol Wojtyla and John Paul II".  On November 6, the Krakow Philharmonic will host a concert of Henryk Mikołaj Górecki's works. The programme will include: Cantata for solo organs, Op. 26, Salve and Sidus Polonorum from the St. Adalbert Cantata for great mixed choir, 2 pianos, organ and a group of percussion instruments, Op. 72, and Totus Tuus for mixed choir a cappella, Op. 60. The concert will be performed by the Choir of the Music Academy in Kraków, Józef Serafin and Dariusz Bąkowski-Kois (organ), Beata Kluza and Alicja Chyla-Wróbel (piano), Tomasz Sobaniec and Bartosz Sałdan (percussion instruments), conducted by Maestro Stanisław Krawczyński.
