The Academy of Music in Krakow invites you on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. to the Florianka Hall (15 Sereno Fenna St.) for the final concert of the 3rd International Krzysztof Penderecki Cello Competition.
The music of Krzysztof Penderecki has become an inspiration for the establishing the competition, which is a great platform enabling to exchange music experiences and views. Experiencing new music works allows us to know better the culture of the participants’ countries and develops our own personality enriching it with new spiritual values. All young artists taking part in the preparations for the competition have already been successful, exploring new areas of the most perfect of all arts – the music.
20 participants from around the world took part in the contest, judged by the jury composed of: Zdzisław Łapiński (chairman), Julius Berger, Jiwu Li, Ivan Monighetti, Arto Noras, Csaba Onczay, and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt. During the final concert, the Chamber Orchestra of the Krakow Academy of Music will be conducted by the excellent conductor-cellist Adam Klocek. The programme will include, among others, Viola concerto (in the version for cello, chamber orchestra, percussion and celesta) by Krzysztof Penderecki in the interpretation of the winner of the Competition.
