The names of the winners of one of the most prestigious competitions for young cellists under the age of 30 have been announced! Following the final auditions of the 12th Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition, organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance, 4 main prizes, 2 special regulation prizes and 1 special mention were awarded on the 11th of May 2024. The award gala will also take place at the Warsaw Philharmonic on the 12th of May at 6 p.m. Admission is ticketed.
Here are the names of the winners who will attend the Gala:
1st Prize - Tae-Yeon Kim (South Korea)
2nd Prize - Maria Leszczynska-Thieu (Poland)
3rd Prize - Antoni Wrona (Poland)
4th Prize - Gustaw Bafeltowski (Poland)
Distinction - Esteban Jiménez Suárez (Spain).
