Laureates of the 1st Grażyna Bacewicz International Violin Competition

Sławomira Wilga21-year-old Sławomira Wilga (Poland) and 16-year-old Anne Luisa Kramb (Germany) won the 1st edition of the Grażyna Bacewicz International Violin Competition, which finished on December 13, 2015.

Laureates:
1st prize ex aequo – Anne Luisa Kramb and Sławomira Wilga
2nd prize – Mateusz Makuch
3rd prize ex aequo – Robert Łaguniak and Amelia Maszońska
distinction – Roksana Kwaśnikowska

The winners also received special prizes funded by the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Centre (performances during the ”Emanacje” Festival). Sławomira Wilga also won two additional awards: financial prize funded by the Rector of the Academy of Music in Łódź and high quality bow funded by Marcin Mazur Violin Maker Workshop.

Diplomas for outstanding pianists were awarded to: Michał Francuz, Hanna Holeksa, Wojciech Kubica, Marcin Sikorski, Krzysztof Stanienda, and Wojciech Wołoszyn.

The announcement of the results was followed by the final concert, during which the Competition’s laureates performed compositions by Maurice Ravel, Henryk Wieniawski, Karol Szymanowski, Fritz Kreisler and new work Wahanie by Sławomir Kaczorowski (composed for the Competition).
