The Chair of String Instruments at the Music Academy in Łódź invites you to a two-day scientific and artistic conference entitled "A diversity of forms and performance techniques in string literature of the 20th and 21st centuries", organized on October 23-24, 2018.
The lectures will take place between 10 am and 1 pm (Tuesday) and 10 am and 12.30 pm (Wednesday). On the first and second day, two concerts are planned at 5.00 pm. The group of invited speakers consists of specialists from Polish music academies, among others, dr Dorota Stanisławska, prof. dr hab. Agata Jarecka, dr hab. Ewa Guzowska, prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Kubica, prof. dr hab. Jolanta Kukuła-Kopczyńska, dr hab. Jan Kalinowski, dr Sebastian Wypych, dr Anna Wandtke, prof. dr. hab. Sławomir Tomasik.
The programme of the afternoon concerts will include music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries: Nostalgia for viola solo by Agata Jarecka, Sonata No. 2, Op. 63 by Mieczysław Weinberg, Bi-Kaleidoscopium for two violas by Bogdan Dowlasz, Myths, Op. 30 by Karol Szymanowski, La cadenza. Ignacy Jan Paderewski in memoriam, Op. 3 by Sławomir Tomasik, String Quartet by Paul Kletzki, Little Polish Concerto by Bartosz Kowalski, Duo Concertante by Krzysztof Penderecki.
