The BISMA Bacewicz International Summer Music Academy is an international piano master course, the third edition of which will start on 10 August 2021 at the Academy of Music in Łódź. The classes will be conducted by eminent teachers from the most prestigious music academies: Dang Thai Son, Claudio Martinez Mehner, Ilya Maximov and Hubert Rutkowski. Concerts of participants open to the public are planned every day between 10 and 15 August at 7.30 p.m.
Organised by Stretto Music Foundation and the Academy of Music in Łódź, the courses will take place in the historic Karol Poznański Palace, the headquarters of the Academy of Music in Łódź. 31 pianists from Poland, Switzerland, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Japan, Korea and Thailand will practice their skills on wide piano repertoire. Renowned pianists from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg and the Hochschule für Music und Theater in Hamburg will share their experience. A large number of the participants of this year's edition are young Polish pianists preparing to participate in the International Chopin Piano Competition. Piano music lovers will have the opportunity to listen to all participants live during the evening concerts.
Six concerts will also be broadcast online on the Facebook page of the Academy of Music in Łódź. Piotr Alexewicz, laureate of the International Grażyna Bacewicz Award 2020, will perform a recital at the inauguration (10 August, 7:30 p.m.). The Final Gala (15 August, 7.30 p.m.) will feature performances of four young pianists participating in the project – the best of them will be awarded the International Grażyna Bacewicz Award 2021.
