Lusławice | „Emanacje" Festival 2021: Aleksandra Świgut and Motion Trio

EmanacjeAleksandra Świgut and Motion Trio will perform as part of the "Emanacje" Festival 2021 in Lusławice on 21 and 22 August at 7:00 p.m. The pianist's Chopin recital will take place in the concert hall of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, while the trio will perform at the Arboretum.

EmanacjeAleksandra Świgut studied with Piotr Paleczny at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, with Wojciech Świtała at the Academy of Music in Katowice, and with David Dolan at the Guildhall School of Music. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk. She is a multiple scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Franciszek Wybrańczyk Foundation, and the German Jütting Foundation. She is a laureate of piano competitions in Ettlingen, Enschede and New Orleans. In 2018, she received the 2nd prize at the 1st International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments in Warsaw. This year, she will participate in the 18th Chopin Competition.

The accordion trio Motion Trio is the winner of the Grand Prix and First Prize at the 4th Krzysztof Penderecki  International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow in 2000. They won the recognition of critics and the public by performing in 44 countries around the world on six continents, including at such prestigious venues as the Carnegie Hall in New York. The ensemble's output includes 13 albums, i.a. Polonium devoted exclusively to Polish music. At the next concert, they will perform for the first time Krzysztof Penderecki's Three Pieces in Old Style in a version for accordion trio, as well as works by Fryderyk Chopin, Grażyna Bacewicz, Wojciech Kilar, Michael Nyman, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and compositions by members of the band – Janusz Wojtarowicz, Marcin Gałażyn and Paweł Lamb.
