Lusławice | "Music of Our Times": Concert of Premieres and Grand Finale
The concert of premieres on 4 June 2021 at 6.00 p.m. as part of the "Music of Our Times" programme will be dedicated to the memory of Krzysztof Penderecki. The event at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music will be inaugurated by Maestro's Divertimento performed by the cellist Szymon Szopa. The programme will also include premieres of 8 works by young Polish composers.
"Music of Our Times" is a 4-year programme to promote the work of young composers of the 21st century. The organiser of this project is the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy Association – the International Centre for Music and the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music. The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport. The idea of the Programme is not only to popularize selected contemporary compositions by young artists, but also to have these works performed by young musicians. As Krzysztof Penderecki claimed: "'Music of Our Times' is a project of great opportunities for young Polish composers of the 21st century. The programme is an integration platform for young artists and performers, targeting the performances at young audiences."
Each year, works by young composers are premiered on the stage of the European Centre for Music in Lusławice as part of the Programme Presentation Stage concert. The grand finale of the next edition of the programme will feature premieres of works by Magdalena Gorwa, Ewa Borcz, Alina Dzięcioł, Mikołaj Sarad, Krzysztof Kicior, Andrzej Jakuszew, Aleksandra Kolbusz and Kamil Kruk.
