MagDuś Duo is the ensemble in residence at the Institution of Promotion and Dissemination of Music "Silesia" in the 2017/2018 season. Their concerts will take place in Katowice on October 14 (The Goldstein Villa), November 26 (Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music) and December 3 (Town House of Culture "Koszutka").
MagDuś Duo consists of young artists, graduates of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice: saxophonist Bartłomiej Duś and pianist Magdalena Duś. In 2013 they won the second prize at the 18th Kiejstut Bacewicz International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, and a year later the audience award and the second prize at the "Salieri - Zinetti" International Chamber Music Competition in Verona. In 2012 Claccis Clips publishing company issued their debut album Malinconico with works by 20th century French composers.
The Institute of Music and Dance "Artist-in-Residence" programme is dedicated to young Polish performers and to Polish musical institutions as well as other types of institutions that hold a regular concert schedule. It invites solo instrumentalists and singers, as well as ensembles of up to nine musicians, who represent a variety of stylistic line-ups. The programme is open to Polish musical artists of up to 35 years of age who have graduated from artistic educational establishments.
