"Missa Latina" – John Paul II in memoriam

Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and Choir under José Maria Florêncio will perform Missa Latina by Zdzisław Szostak on April 9, 2016 at the Archcathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Łódź.

Missa Latina, written in 2003, was inspired by Gregorian chant, polyphony typical for Baroque period, as well as music of Romanticism, Impressionism and Modernism. It also contains film music quotes.

The concert, dedicated to Pope John Paul II, will be attended by the composer himself.

The event is co-financed by the National Centre for Culture and Łódź Special Economic Zone.
