On November 17, 2017 Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble from Krakow will begin a new project, which main goal is to present works written by the leading 20th century composers to people who are not involved in music.
The concerts will take place every month and we be performed by musicians who presented their skills at the biggest contemporary music festivals in Poland and abroad, such as „Warsaw Autumn”, Sacrum Profanum and Internationale Ferienkurse fur Neue Musik in Darmstadt.
Each meeting will take 60 minutes and will engage three to five performers who will present works or excerpts of pieces idiomatic for a given artist or style. Among the chosen 20th century composers are George Crumb, Luciano Berio, Helmut Lachenmann, Paweł Mykietyn and Kazimierz Serocki. Organizers will also invite audience to take part in discussions on the presented music.
The closest meeting will be held on November 17 and 21, and Decmber 14 and 15 at Dworek Białoprądnicki Cultural Center, The C. K. Norwid Culture Centre and Olsza Integrative Culture Club.
