Skowronki Girls’ Choir conducted by Alicja Szeluga will perform a concert Christmas Around the World on December 16, 2015 in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.
The choir will present Polis carols, as well as music of contemporary composers from all around the world, including Lisa Young (Australia), Marten Jansson (Sweden), Grzegorz Miśkiewicz and Bartosz Banasewicz (Poland). The choir will be joined by Marzena Michałowska (soprano), Monika Krajewska (mezzosoprano), pianist Cheslau Lynscha and percussionist Beata Polak. Poznań-based choir Skowronki, which has won many prestigious international awards, this year celebrates its 65th anniversary.
The choir will also give concerts in Welte Hall at the Central Connecticut State University (December 19) and the Church of the Annunciation in New York (December 20).
