A new unique piece of music is being created at the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice by composers from Poland and abroad. It will be dedicated to the memory of Professor Krzysztof Penderecki. Music lovers themselves will be able to decide on the final shape of the composition.
The premiere performance will take place as soon as the musicians return to the concert hall, although an online version will also be released. A group of outstanding Polish and foreign composers joined the original action, undertaking new artistic activities in the time of isolation. This group include Enjott Schneider, Mikołaj Piotr Górecki, Marcel Chyrzyński, and Paweł Mykietyn. This is not a complete list, because there will be some surprises. The innovative composition will be published by PWM Edition, which is a co-organizer of the action. "Ruch Muzyczny" magazine is a partner of the project.
The rule is simple. Each day, two alternative fragments of a new work will be presented on the Silesian Philharmonic Facebook profile. By online voting, everyone will be able to contribute to the decision: which one will be included in the final composition. Each subsequent week will belong to a different composer. The project will last until 16 May 2020.
