Pianist Magdalena Lisak will perform compositions by Stefan Kisielewski on February 23, 2016 in the Warsaw Rising Museum.
The event will be devoted to Stefan Kisielewski who was also known as a writer, journalist and commentator, social and political activist. Composing was only one of several fields of his public activity. Because of his uncompromising stand in all these areas, he became an object of communist repressions.
Magdalena Lisak, who specializes in performing Kisielewski’s music, will present the composer’s piano works written during the war and in the 1950s, including Danse vive (1939), the score of which was destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising. The composition was re-created after the war by pianist Lech Miklaszewski, for whom it had been written.
The concert is organized by the Warsaw Rising Museum, PWM Edition and Polish Radio Programme 2.
Admission free.
