The Castle Opera Choir's concert on the 82nd anniversary of the outbreak of World War II
On 1 September 2021, on the 82nd anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, the Choir of the Castle Opera in Szczecin will perform a concert "To those who died for Poland" at the War Cemetery in Stare Łysogórki in the Mieszkowice commune.
The Choir of the Castle Opera in Szczecin conducted by Małgorzata Bornowska will perform in the place where there are almost 2,000 tombstones of soldiers killed during the crossing of the Oder in the spring of 1945 and in the battles for Berlin. The programme of this ceremony, so important for the history of Poland and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, will include pieces by Fryderyk Chopin, The Red Poppies on Monte Cassino with music by Alfred Schütz, Camp Prayer by Adam Kowalski, Oh, Polish Land by Juliusz Łuciuk and Polish Mass by Jan Adam Maklakiewicz.
