Germany-based pianist Katarzyna Wasiak and Diverso String Quartet will perform Piano Quintet by Mieczysław Weinberg and Szymon Laks on September 16, 2016 at the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.
The concert is organized within the "Project Weinberg" international initiative aimed at promoting Mieczysław Weinberg’s output and created by Katarzyna Wasik. Weinberg was one of the most interesting 20th-century composers, however his music has became almost completely forgotten. It might have been caused by extremely complicated and difficult story of his life as his biography touches the darkest episodes of the history of Europe.
The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
