The "Music in Blumwe Villa" festival will take place on September 27 – December 13, 2018 in Bydgoszcz.
The historical name of the building currently occupied by the Polish Radio PiK in Bydgoszcz – Wilhelm Blumwe Villa – inspired to give its name to the festival. The historical, educational and informational value of the headquarters of the Polish Radio in Bydgoszcz will also have its influence on the implementation of the project. All concerts will be recorded and retransmitted on Mondays after concerts of the "Classical Salon" broadcast by Polish Radio PiK.
The festival will cover five concerts. During the Inauguration, the New Music Quartet will perform works by Polish composers: Karol Szymanowski, Andrzej Panufnik and Krzysztof Penderecki. In October, we will hear violinist Joanna Kreft and the early music ensemble from Bydgoszcz. On November 11, Turkish pianist Ferhat Çan Büyük will present works by Fryderyk Chopin. On November 24, Herbert Piano Trio and Sextet "Sigma" will perform the latest work by Szymon Godziemba-Trytek – Elegy for the Departure of Pen Ink and Lamp to the words by Zbigniew Herbert.
