Cracow | Farewell to Krzysztof Penderecki

The ceremony of transferring Krzysztof Penderecki's ashes to his final resting place, combined with a farewell, will take place on the 29^th of March 2022. Holy Mass in the church of Saints Peter and Paul will begin at 12 o’clock. Due to the small space of the temple it will be attended by the relatives and people invited by the composer's family, representatives of the state, local authorities, institutions and artistic circles, as well as musicians who will perform the works of an outstanding artist, honorary president of the Polish Composers' Union.

At 11.00 a funeral procession will begin which will pass through the streets of Cracow: from the Basilica of St. Florian, along the Royal Route through Floriańska Street, Main Market Square and Grodzka Street to the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. It will be an opportunity for all those willing to pay tribute in public and honor the memory of the Artist.
