The first concert of electroacoustic music organized by SMEAMuz Poznań, will take place on April 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the CCA Solvay in Krakow (62 Zakopiańska Street).
This event marks the beginning of academic cooperation initiated by prof. Lidia Zielińska from the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and prof. Marek Chołoniewski from the Academy of Music and Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
Electroacoustic Composition students and pedagogues from the Academy of Music in Poznań will present in Kraków their own electroacoustic ptojects. A joint improvisation of Poznań musicians and Kraków hosts with the participation of hurdy gurdy, singing, analogue tape recorders and various electronic media is also planned. On May 18 Kraków composers will perform in Poznań.
Three years ago Poznań Academy of Music introduced a new study programme with the innovative specialty "Electroacoustic Composition" – a project unique in the scale of Europe. Candidates without formal musical education are invited to apply every year, taking classes on sound computer technologies as well as classical and contemporary professional music. Since the studies last three years, in late spring the programme will have its first graduates.
