32nd International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Competitions will take place between the 2nd and 26th of October 2022.
Festival concerts will take place at the City of Gardens concert hall, the Radio Katowice Concert Studio, the NOSPR chamber hall, the Basilica of the Fr. Franciscans and the ATElier Cultural Center in Jaworzno. One of the concerts of the 32nd Festival has also been scheduled in Kosice, Slovakia, a partner city of Katowice.
This year’s edition of the Festival draws on its more than 30-year tradition – the idea of promoting the most outstanding young artists and cooperating with prestigious music competitions, at which the laureates designated by the jury receive a special prize in the form of an invitation to concerts in Katowice. This feature reveals the 2022 festival calendar, with concerts dedicated to such competitions as: 71st ARD International Music Competition in Munich, 11th International Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw, 17th Silesian Guitar Autumn, 4th ARS ET GLORIA International Competition for Solo Sacred Singing, Mieczysław Wajnberg International Violin Competition.
The 32nd International Festival of Young Laureates of Music Competitions will be honored with performances by two orchestras of young artists: Polish Orchestra SINFONIA IUVENTUS, conducted by Anna Sułkowska-Migoń, and Chamber Orchestra of the City of Jaworzno ARCHETTI, conducted by Maciej Tomasiewicz. Plus 3 chamber ensembles, soloists of various specialties (among them guests from many European countries) and a wide repertoire spectrum from masterpieces of early music, classical, romantic to contemporary music. This is the result of the Festival performers’ proposals, as the concert programs are often compositions whose interpretations have won high marks from competition juries, but sometimes also reveal their current musical fascinations.
Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, as part of the ‘Music’ programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
