Young promising artists - winners of the 1st and 2nd editions of the International Polish Music Competition - will begin their tour of the United States in November. All as part of the Polish Music on Stage / US edition’ project, which aims to popularize the idea of this event and interest potential participants. It is organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the ‘Inspiring Culture’ programme.
The International Competition of Polish Music has been held since 2019 at the Artur Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszów, and its goal is to promote the musical heritage of 60 Polish composers from the 19th and 20th centuries among Polish and international audiences. The event is aimed at pianists and chamber ensembles. It is the winners of this competition who will take part in the series of 16 concerts ‘Polish Music on Stage / US edition’, which will take place from November 2022 to December 2023, incl. in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. Performers will be: the American pianist - Carter Johnson, the Polish Violin Duo and the Cracow Golden Quintet, as well as the laureate of the last Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition - Jakub Kuszlik. Part of the project are visits to partners in the USA and Poland to exchange experiences in the organization and promotion of music events in both countries.
