"Multimedia Organ Evenings" is a series by the Silesian Philharmonic where the majesty of the pipe organ meets the world of modern visual art. The first evening in this season’s series will take place on October 19, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Thanks to organist Tomasz Głuchowski, sound and image will come together to create a unified experience, transforming the concert hall into a space full of color, light, and spiritual depth.
Discover how organ music can sound and look completely different. Tomasz Głuchowski — organist, harpsichordist, and improviser — is the titular organist of St. Adalbert's Church in Wrocław and an associate professor with a postdoctoral degree at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music. He is also the artistic director of the Wrocław early music ensemble Ars Concordiae, a member of the baroque ensemble Sanssouci of the Opole Philharmonic, artistic director of the "Summer Organ Festival in the Basilica of Krotoszyn", and curator of the organs at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. He has been awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit by the President of the Republic of Poland and the honorary badge "Meritorious for Polish Culture" by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
During the concert in Katowice, his interpretation will include Hymnus in Honorem Sancti Petri et Pauli by Marian Sawa, as well as works by Dieterich Buxtehude, Johann Sebastian Bach, Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, Marcel Dupré, Jean Langlais, and William Mathias.
Organ music will be accompanied by modern visual effects, and the audience will experience just how profoundly different organ music can sound — and look.
