Polish composers originally interpreted. Opening of the 4th edition of the 'Polish Music Scene'

POLMIC

World and Polish premieres, a repertoire rarely presented and works very well known in the interpretations of great artists representing various generations and styles. In the 4th edition of the programme organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance, you will be able to hear historical performance specialists, jazz improvising quartets, and even for the first time in this series: a guitar duo and a string orchestra. The 4th edition will be inaugurated by the Atom String Quartet concert on the 30th of September, 2022 at 19.00 at the Henryk Wieniawski Philharmonic in Lublin.

The ‘Polish Music Scene’, like the International Competition of Polish Music, aims to present and bring back to life Polish composers’ output in all its richness. Apart from recognized artists whose works are performed all over the world, there is a multitude of native composers whose works are presented much less frequently, occasionally or who simply do not exist in contemporary concert life.

The idea implemented by the ‘Polish Music Scene’ is shared by the participating artists who adapt their repertoire to it. One of them is the recognized Atom String Quartet, which is taking part in the programme for the second time.

From among over 100 applications sent to the programme for the 2022/23 season, 10 concert programmes were selected, presenting a stylistically diverse repertoire and various performances.
