Between the 21st and 29th of May 2022 the 18th edition of the Mundus Cantat International Choir Festival Sopot 2022 will take place. 13 choirs from all over the world, including Angola and the Philippines will take part in his year's edition. The guest of the festival will be last year's winner of the Sopot Mewa Award - ASBeek Choir. Admission to all concerts is free.
For the first time after a pandemic break, foreign bands will come to Sopot again - it will be possible to hear them live, not in a virtual version, as it has been for the last 2 years. The competition will include choirs from Angola, the Philippines, Latvia, nd representatives of Poland from Łódź, Gniew, Wejherowo, Przodków, Gdańsk and Gdynia. The participants will be judged by an international jury chaired by Prof. Beata Wróblewska from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
Accompanying concerts will be held as part of the festival: the music of Polish composers will be heard in Sopot churches, in the open air and in the Social Welfare Center in Sopot. The programme will also include two colorful and spectacular events.
