The ensemble, founded by the conductor Anna Szostak in 1990, developed with time into a unique musical phenomenon thanks to its sound and excellent technique. The singers from Katowice delight and astonish festival audiences throughout the world with their interpretations of formidably difficult works, frequently composed specially for their ensemble. In September the Polish audience has the opportunity to hear them perform in the concert halls of the newly built venue of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice ((PNRSO) during their Silver Jubilee Festival.

“Each of the three concerts shows a different area or aspect of our activity,” says Anna Szostak. “The singers will demonstrate their abilities in contemporary, popular and early music repertoire.”

On 5th September 2015 in the main concert hall, the choir presented works dedicated to Camerata Silesia, written by Polish composers, e.g. by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki. In the second part of the same concert, devoted to jazz music, the singers accompanied the world-famous pianist Leszek Możdżer and his regular musical collaborators: Zohar Fresco, Olo Walicki and Adam Pierończyk.

Another anniversary concert – on 12th September – brings a wave of Southern heat to Katowice with Misa Flamenca, interpreted by Paco Peña – considered as the world’s greatest flamenco guitarist, accompanied by his Flamenco Dance Company and the Camerata Silesia. The programme also includes a piece written by Paco Peña specially for the 150th anniversary of the City of Katowice and for the silver jubilee of the Camerata Silesia Katowice City Singers' Ensemble.

The last concert of the Festival is a special treat for early music lovers. On 26th September the Camerata Silesia will perform with London Baroque, an ensemble of four instrumentalists considered by experts as one of the leading exponents of Baroque chamber music. All the concerts are conducted by the founder and director of the Camerata Silesia Katowice City Singers' Ensemble – Anna Szostak.
