The Winners' Concert of the 2nd Antoni Cofalik National Violin and Viola Competition will be broadcast on 11 June 2021 at 5.00 p.m. on the YouTube channel of the Oskar Kolberg Primary Music School in Czasław.
The 2nd Antoni Cofalik National Violin and Viola Competition, organised by Oskar Kolberg Primary Music School in Czasław, was held on 4-6 June 2021 in Sułkowice. The auditions took place in the Concert Hall in Sułkowice, where a branch of the school is located. 108 participants from 59 music schools from all over Poland applied to participate in the competition.
The aim of the Competition is to promote young talented students, popularize violin music and the work of Prof. Antoni Cofalik, a distinguished educator and author of numerous works for children and youth. The jury composed of: Prof. Antoni Cofalik – chairman, Prof. Małgorzata Skorupa and Małgorzata Giza-Piątek, awarded 69 prizes and honourable mentions. Thanks to the Sponsors and Partners, the total amount of prizes exceeded PLN 20,000. Each participant received a diploma and gifts.
iTV Myślenice – South Region recorded the Winners' Concert, featuring performances of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in individual categories and the Grand Prix winner. The winners were also granted the prize funded by PWM Edition in the form of a master class with Daniel Stabrawa as part of the 18th edition of Music Education Days organised by PWM (November 2021). The concert's special guest was an outstanding violinist Stanisław Słowiński, who improvised on the three pieces from Antoni Cofalik's Aviary series.
