26^th International Kłodzko Piano Competition will be held on May 17-18, 2024 in Kłodzko in two formats: stationary and online. Admission to auditions and concerts is free.

A total of 89 pianists from 6 countries will take part in this year's edition: 50 in-person and 39 in the online competition.

The “Muzyka źle obecna” festival - established by the Cultural Events Office of the Institute of National Remembrance - was created with the aim of bringing out the Polish artistic heritage of the difficult post-war years from the archives. We will hear works by Polish composers of the 20^th century in Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań, Słupsk, Lublin and Olsztyn on May 17 - June 23, 2024. Admission to the concerts is free!

The event will be devoted to artists excluded and censored by the communist authorities in Poland. The organizers of the event also include in the programme "artists who decided to emigrate as an act of protest against the communist authorities, but also those trying to create unrestrained art in their homeland despite ideological difficulties."

The inauguration of this year's Festival will take place at the National Forum of Music: NFM Wrocław Philharmonic conducted by Yaroslav Szemet will perform symphonic works by emigrant composers: Andrzej Panufnik, Stanisław Skrowaczewski, Karol Rathaus and Roman Palester.

"Korvat auki", or "Open your ears", is the name of an artistic association that cares for the dissemination of contemporary music in Finland and a title of the concert of the New Music Orchestra, which specializes in performing and promoting contemporary music. It will present works by artists from Poland, Ukraine, Finland and France on the 19^th of May 2024 at 6 p.m. The soloist will be harpsichordist Gośka Isphording.

She will perform the composition 'A l'île de Gorée' by Iannis Xenakis, which today belongs to the iron repertoire of harpsichord music; it was written for perhaps the most famous harpsichordist of the 20^th century - Elżbieta Chojnacka.

The downtown improvisation workshops for children "Tell me a fairy tale", organized by the Polish Society of Contemporary Music, will take place at the Sto Pociech Foundation in Warsaw (Freta 20/24a) on the 18^th of May, 2024 at 10:30. Participation is free of charge. Children aged 3-8 with their parents will be able to take part in unique activities full of music, improvisation and fun.

During the classes you will be able to learn more about contemporary music and hear, among others: what an octopus on a walk, frogs in a pond or tools in a workshop sound like. Thanks to the integration of various forms of art, children during this type of workshops learn expression, cooperation in a group, and develop their own artistic voice.

The workshops will be led by the creators of these workshops - improvisers: composer and pianist Jarosław Siwiński and double bassist Małgorzata Kołcz, and their musical guest - drummer Leszek Lorent.

Every spring, the Hashtag Lab hosts an evening which programme is dedicated to the memory of Polish Jews. On the 81^st anniversary of the destruction of the Great Synagogue in Tłomackie on the 16^th of May at 7:00 p.m. Artur Zagajewski's work Tree of Life with words by Chava Rosenfarb will be performed.

Tree of Life is a piece commissioned by the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center in Łódź and was written to the poems of the Yiddish poet Chava Rosenfarb. Chava survived the ghetto and eventually emigrated to Canada, where she died. Her life's work is the extensive, autobiographical novel The Tree of Life, which was recently translated into Polish.
