Dariusz Wójcik, artistic director of the Open Theater, invites you to the 19th International Festival "Maria Fołtyn Kaleidoscope of Musical Forms", which will be held on September 8-23, 2018 in Sopot.

"Maria Fołtyn Kaleidoscope of Musical Forms" Festival is an important cultural event of Northern Poland. Famous Polish vocalist Maria Fołtyn – a patron of the Festival from 2013 – was a great propagator of Stanisław Moniuszko's work in the world, and also a friend of Sopot and the Open Theater during her lifetime. The festival is interdisciplinary, combining the diversity of artistic disciplines, such as music, singing, dance, poetry, painting, as well as a great variety of musical styles from baroque to contemporary, including classical, popular and folk music.

From the very beginning, the event puts a special emphasis on musical and historical education of both children, adolescents and adults. During the eight concerts, we will hear music from the multicultural circle, there will be a 4-day Master Course for Singers, a 4-day Open Air Painting Event under the name "Musical inspirations in painting" (launched in 2017) and the first edition of Sopot Musical Mornings for school children and youth under the named "Devil is not so black...".

The converts will feature artists from Poland and abroad, including Bogdan Makal (bass-baritone), Dariusz S. Wójcik (bass), Jacek Szymański (tenor), Monika Bohiniec (mezzo-soprano, soloist of the Vienna State Opera), Yeyoung Sohn (soprano from South Korea) and Lech Napierała (pianist). They will present not only masterpieces of Western European music, but also works by Polish composers, including Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko and Feliks Nowowiejski.
