This year, Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa begins celebrating her 75th birthday with premiere of her work Father Kolberg in Kielce. Seven main sins at the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic. The tragicomic suite for a large symphony orchestra will be performed for the first time on the 16th of February, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. by the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra in Kielce conducted by Jacek Rogala.
The suite contains an ironic and sarcastic interpretation of the cardinal human vices, arranged in seven parts: Pride, Envy, Debauchery, Greed, Anger, Gluttony and Sloth. The piece was created as part of the "Composer's Commissions" programme implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
The concert programme also includes compositions by Maurice Ravel and Roberto Molinelli. Saxophonist Paweł Gusnar will perform as a soloist.
