Media patronage: Polish Music Information Centre POLMIC
The Polish counterpoint of the concert on the 2nd of March, 2024 at 6.00 p.m. at NOSPR, as part of the series "Silesian Quartet - masterpieces with Polish counterpoint", will be a string quartet by one of the oldest living Polish composers - Zbigniew Bargielski. The composer wrote the String Quartet No. 1 during his stay in Austria - hence its name - "Alpine".
– "We recorded all the composer's quartets on CDs. It's great music, and each subsequent quartet is completely unlike the previous one. Bargielski has many great, surprising musical ideas, and his musical language is extremely youthful," say the musicians of the Silesian Quartet about Bargielski's music.
