Elbląg Chamber Orchestra and Atom String Quartet

wConcert Hall of the State Music School Complex in Elbląg will host a special concert on Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2017.

The programme, which includes Suite on Polish Themes by Krzysztof Herdzin, Three Dances by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and other compositions, will be performed by the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra and Atom String Quartet under the direction of Krzysztof Herdzin.

Krzysztof Herdzin is a jazz pianist, composer, conductor, producer and teacher. He has been involved in recording of over 200 albums and received 17 Golden Records for his arrangements. He wrote several songs, jazz themes, film scores, and music for TV ads, as well as arranged and orchestrated Jan A. P. Kaczmarek’s music for Finding Neverland, which won an Oscar in 2005.

Atom String Quartet is one of the most intriguing string quartets in the world. The group combines the capabilities of a string quartet (i.e. two violins, viola and cello) with improvisation in its broad sense. The set of instruments of a chamber music ensemble, which is most classic and firmly established in music tradition, enables the artists to search for new sound and formal achievements. The group’s music style, besides jazz, shows sources of inspiration coming from Polish folk, music of various regions of the world, and also contemporary and classical music (source: www.atomstringquartet.com).
