Elbląg | Argentinian rhythms

eok

It is said that "you need two to tango". Is it true? This statement will be denied by the trio that will play along with the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra again on May 13, 2018 in the concert hall of the State Music Schools Complex in Elbląg at 6.00 p.m.

Tango Attack and the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra will take music lovers on a trip to Buenos Aires – a city that is a source of inspiration for tango fans around the world. Listeners will learn about the multicultural world of the Argentine capital, which streets are filled with dancing people and colorful murals.

The repertoire will include the biggest hits of Argentinian tango (Cumparsita, El Choclo, Por una Cabeza). There will be compositions by Astor Piazzolla, one of the most important figures in the history of this genre (eg Muerte del Angel, Otono Porteno, Libertango) and original works, including Lejdistango by Hadrian Filip Tabęcki.

The guides to the meanders of South American music will be outstanding instrumentalists, who combines tradition with modern sound experiments. Hadrian Filip Tąbecki (piano) is a comprehensively talented composer and arranger. He cooperated, among others, with Michał Bajor, and his works are included on the CDs of Jose Cura, Jacek Bończyk and Mieczysław Szcześniak. Piotr Malicki (guitar) specializes in playing in chamber ensembles and is fascinated by Argentinian rhythms. Grzegorz Bożewicz (bandoneon) is described by critics as a great interpreter of Argentine, Greek, Irish, French, as well as Baroque and contemporary music.

The concert is part of the „Filharmonia/ostrożnie, wciąga!!!” programme, coordinated by the Institute of Music and Dance.
