Monumental compositions, beautiful scenery and five different concerts – between September 15 and 22, 2018 a birthday edition of the 6th Krzysztof Penderecki International Festival – level 320 will be held in Zabrze. This year's edition is unique because we are celebrating the 85th birthday of the composer, who is the patron of the Festival since 2013.
Atom String Quartet in the mine with jazz arrangements of Penderecki's works, underground jam session, Essenian Philharmonic under the baton of Friedrich Haider with Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Penderecki. Concerts in the spectacular spaces of the Queen Louise Gallery, at the House of Music and Dance and the Krakow Philharmonic. German chamber music from the highest shelf 320 meters underground in the Guido Mine, and for the grand finale – the National Philharmonic Choir under the baton of Maestro Krzysztof Penderecki in the repertoire of the Grammy awarded anthology Penderecki Conducts Penderecki. Iwona Hossa, Anna Lubańska, Adam Zdunikowski and Sinfonietta Cracovia under the baton of Jurek Dybał, director of the Festival. Among the accompanying events – the performance of Penderecki's Ubu Roi by the Silesian Opera.
